As the holiday period turns to end, science is ready to start! And what a better occasion than the XXVIII Congresso Nazionale della Società Chimica Italiana which was held in Milan (Italy) between the 26th and the 30th of August. This event is a cornerstone in the Italian chemical community, attracting leading researchers, academics, and industry professionals from across the country and beyond. The congress covers a wide range of chemical disciplines, providing an invaluable platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and fostering collaborations. The topic of the event, ‘Elements of the future’, offered several interesting occasions to think and discuss about the role of chemistry as central science in the future of technology and our society, with particular attention toward the younger generations. We had the pleasure to participate with our (almost) complete team together with numerous other colleagues from the University of Pisa. For more details, visit https://sci2024.org
